For FY 2026-27, the New Regime slabs are unchanged from FY 2025-26: income up to ₹4 lakh is tax-free, then 5% up to ₹8 lakh, 10% up to ₹12 lakh, 15% up to ₹16 lakh, 20% up to ₹20 lakh, 25% up to ₹24 lakh, and 30% beyond that — with a standard deduction of ₹75,000 and a Section 87A rebate that brings tax to zero for taxable income up to ₹12 lakh. The Old Regime keeps its long-standing slabs (nil up to ₹2.5 lakh, 5% up to ₹5 lakh, 20% up to ₹10 lakh, 30% beyond) with a ₹50,000 standard deduction and a smaller ₹12,500 rebate up to ₹5 lakh taxable income, but allows deductions like 80C and HRA. A 4% health and education cess applies to both regimes.
Surcharge for income above ₹50 lakh is applied without marginal relief, and this calculator does not account for capital gains, other income heads, or every available deduction. For income above ₹50 lakh, or for an exact filing figure, please consult a chartered accountant. This is an educational estimate, not tax advice — see our full disclaimer.
